Workshops

Bead up your knitting!

This workshop showcases the techniques in my book, Knit One, Bead Too. You’ll learn to make a small sampler bag that uses five different methods for knitting with beads. Three methods use beads strung on the knitting yarn, one uses beads strung on a separate strand of yarn, and one adds beads individually with a crochet hook. Once learned, you can bring these techniques into all of your knitting. To schedule a workshop for your store or guild, contact Judith.

Beady Fingerless Mitts

In this workshop you'll learn how to invisibly transition from a 3/2 rib to a 5/2 cable pattern. The cable has both a right and left cross and uses slipstitch beading at the center. You'll also learn a no holes method for working thumbs and fingers. To schedule a workshop for your store or guild, contact Judith.

Mosaic Knitting

This clever technique allows you to knit lovely two-color patterns while using only one color at a time. In the workshop you’ll learn the basic technique by knitting a small motif that may later be used on a greeting card or as a patch. And if you like, I'll also help you get started on the Ski Hat from Never Knit Your Man a Sweater. To schedule a workshop for your store or guild, contact Judith.

Shadow Knitting

Shadow Knitting is another clever two-color technique. This one uses strategically placed knits and purls to create an optical illusion or "shadow" effect. In the workshop you'll learn the basic techniques, then cast on and get the scarf started. To schedule a workshop for your store or guild, contact Judith.
